San Francisco, CA – San Francisco-based Metta Fund is proud to announce the appointments of two new board members, Sonia Melara, Executive Director of Rally Family Visitation Services of Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, and a long-time community leader and advocate, and Jarmin Yeh, a researcher at the University of California, San Francisco’s Institute for Health & Aging and assistant professor and lecturer at UCSF and SFSU.
The announcement underscores the Foundation’s continued commitment to the health and wellness of San Francisco’s older adult population.
“I’m very pleased that Sonia and Jarmin have agreed to join our Board of Directors,” said Janet Y. Spears, CEO of Metta Fund. “Collectively they bring tremendous experience and expertise in the aging and health fields; they will serve as outstanding additions to our board.”
Additionally, Board Chair Jim Loyce has been elected to another term as board chair. “I am honored to continue to serve as board chair,” Loyce said. “I look forward to helping the board and staff engage boldly and creatively to improve the health and wellness of aging San Franciscans.”
Metta’s board is comprised of seven individuals who set the foundation’s strategic priorities. Both new members have been elected to serve a three-year term. The foundation also wishes to thank outgoing board members Beverly Hayon and Sandy Mori for their years of service and dedication.
