About Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly
LBFE (little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly) is a national network of nonprofit organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among older adults. As the population ages, and staying independent becomes challenging, impacting physical, mental, and emotional health, our mission grows ever more critical. For the past 33 years, LBFE staff and volunteers have made a direct impact in the lives of the older adults we serve. Notably, the US Surgeon General, Vivek Murthy, highlighted loneliness as a growing public health concern, affecting millions of older adults. This crisis is exacerbated by poverty, hindering access to vital resources. Despite its prevalence, social isolation remains largely invisible.
